There is some big news at Medflight!

Since the beginning of Medflight we have been in association with CJ Systems Aviation. They have provided the helicopter, the pilots, and the A&P Tech.

As of December 15th. CJ has also taken over then Medical side of the program, including the ground transport ambulances and staff. We here at Medflight in Pikeville are very excited about this and look forward to a wonderful future with CJ.

With this, there will be many improvements to the program which will benefit the surrounding counties. Nothing notable will change with the air side. Ground transport though, is going through many changes. Our ambulances will once again be available to surrounding hospitals. They will be dispatched just as the helicopter is now through 1-877-764--STAT. We will also be providing a Critical Care Truck manned by a Paramedic, Nurse, and EMT. In addition we will still have our ALS truck and an BLS Truck.

With these many changes, we have hired more staff and would like to welcome them to the Medflight Team.

In other news, we now have a sister ship, Medflight 2, in Ashland, KY which we are all very excited about. They will soon have their own section of this site where you can learn about them and meet the crews.
