MedFlight of East Ky. EMT Course Registration Requirements and Admission Policy
Individuals desiring to register for an EMT Class with MedFlight of East Ky. Must meet all state requirements including Standards set by MedFlight of East Ky.
1. Applicants who register for class must be at least 18 years of age at the time the course starts. 2. Applicants must complete a course application for review by the Program Coordinator before the course is to start. 3. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED at the time the course starts. 4. Applicants must pass a criminal background check. By State law individuals cannot be certified if they have ever been convicted of a felony charge or has had disciplinary action taken against them for any EMS Certification. 5. Applicants must hold a valid Ky. driver’s license. 6. Applicants must have a Health Care Provider Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or the National Safety Council. 7. Any applicant for this course involved with Emergency Services such as Fire Service, EMS, Law Enforcement will be given priority for course registration.
During this EMT course there will be 7 modules of instruction. The EMT student must pass all 7 modules with a score of 80%. At the end of the course a Final Written Exam will be given by the course Lead Instructor. The EMT student must pass this Exam with a score of 80% to take the Final Skills Exam at the end of the course.
